Is anyone else having trouble with what to do with the humira syringes? Healthcare at home delivered me a quite large sharps bin, but it only fits 3 syringes, as they are too long to go in!!! My old, much smaller one, fitted about 8. Now I'm getting a pile of them on my bedside table, and not sure what to do next!!!
Anyone else got any ideas - or the make of a better sharps bin to ask for next time!!

Humira itself is working really well at the moment, so I'm very pleased.

I wonder if they have sent you a needle bin by mistake? my bin is only small but fits the syringes well.

Hi Anne,

Ring healthcare at home and ask them to send one that the syringes will fit into, you don't have to wait until you get your next drugs delivery. If you want to get rid of the ones you have at home, I presume you can take them to a pharmacy .
Glad the humira is working for you.

hi Anne,

well i've only had two bins since starting at the end of August and they are small, yellow in colour.

in fact i didn't realise you had to ask for one when the order was due .. so they sent my last one in the post.

both the one's i've had are small, and they do fit quite a lot in about two months worth but snugly so i'm wondering if they've changed the bin or as Julie says a syringes bin.

i have to put mine in sort of sort of starting at the top end and then the bottom .. so i do think they are small.

also i hope i'm doing the right thing by leaving the top and bottom off once used, i am sure my Rheumy Nurse told me to do this.

Funnily enough, they sent me a bigger one than usual last time.
I leave the tops off Suzanne, I think we are supposed to.

Yes I just put the tops and bottoms into my ordinary rubbish bin.

thanks for the answer Doreen abnd Julie,

i was putting the top and bottom in the sharps bin, so to free up space i'll just put them in my rubbish bin now.

Thanks everyone. I hadn't thought of leaving the tops and bottoms off. My nurse never told me that. I'll go and try it and see if they fit!!

Glad there are some people on here with some brain power still.... I am sure mine has all gone!!

Just as well I have a week's break on Sunday... kid free but with husband!! Leaving four 19 to 24 year olds in the house on their own on New Year's eve and for the week... so who know what the place will look like when I get back!!!

My top tip is pop the two lids on your recycling bin rather than the normal rubbish bin, every little bit helps
